As always the technicians and service people that have responded from Black Hawk to our residence from 2004 to the present. We are elated with the rapore that they have with us, and explanation of questions. I want in-depth answers. And I can get them from Julian and Dan today and others that have been here before. They’ve been straightforward and honest and sincere. That means so much to me from a company that commands the customer first. I want you to know that everything from the top of the company to the bottom of the company has meant so much to me and my family for service and representation from your company for our appliances. I wanna thank you for that and I will continue being A sincere customer of Blackhawk in the future. Thank you for all
Technician was here very quickly after I placed in a service call, was able to find the problem in a short amount of time
Super job was done!
Very good work. Very nice electricians. I use Black-Haak for many jobs.
He was quick in finding a leak in my AC unit when another employee was unable to find it. He explained where the leak was and what needed to be fixed in an easy to understand way. He was very conscious of being able to answer all questions that I had.
2018-19 was a rough winter. Very cold. This is the first time in five years of generator ownership that my weekly test ran all winter...and it was the first year that Black Haack serviced the generator. Hopefully, 2019-20 will be a similar experience.
We’ve been loyal Black Haak customers for years and will continue to be. Service and support are second to none!
Appreciate the honest assessment and the time to explain.[_

Performed the level 2 furnace cleaning. Burners and flame sensor are clean. Heat exchanger looks good. Combustion readings were normal. No CO detected in the air. Drain is clear. High limit passed the safety check. Heat rise was 41°. Unit is heating properly.
Took down existing light fixture and installed new homeowner provided light fixture and corresponding light bulbs. Remounted existing garage electrical box.
Pkg clean and tune. Furnace. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger, ok. Removed, checked and cleaned burners and flame sensor. Checked igniter showing signs of wear, but tested normal. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Found ventor motor bearings very worn causing inconsistent vibrations and loud operation noise. This will cause motor to fail. Checked for levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. Normal levels found. No CO found in airstream. Average life expectancy for this unit is 14 years. This system is 15 years old and worn. Ac. Cycled system. Checked and cleaned electrical compartment. Found contactor and capacitor worn. Compressor tested lower, but within normal range at this time. Used coil cleaner on condenser coil. Hooked up gauges and checked pressures and temps. Indoor coil temp is 43, subcooling was 20, indoor split was 15. System cooling normal at this time. Job complete.
Performed 2 furnace start ups, checked over the furnace installations, cycled both units. Set the gas pressure and checked the fan speed. Performed furnace combustion tests. Both furnaces are running normally at this time.
Performed the level 2 AC cleaning. I covered up the exposed wires on the 2-wire for the AC. No leaks detected. Electrical from the condenser tested in caution, the wiring is still in good condition, however. Capacitor tested good. Condenser coil is clean. Refrigerant charge was normal. Subcool was 11°. Temp split was only 10° but it was most likely due to the temperatures being the same inside and outside of the home. Unit is cooling properly at this time, however, due to age, future life expectancy is unknown. I recommended the filter be replaced and to have a furnace cleaning done. There was a lot of black residue in the exhaust.
Pkg clean and tune. Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger. All chambers are rusted and corroded. No visible cracks found. Checked and cleaned burners, flame sensor, and sparker. All three are ok. Ventor motor bearings are worn. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Checked levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. CO is ok, XS air is higher than normal, but in ok levels at this time. No CO found in airstream. Average life expectancy for this unit is 14 years. This system is operating normal at this time, but future failure is expected. Ac clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked contactor and capacitor, both are worn and corroded. Compressor and fan motor both tested low. Hooked up gauges and checked pressures and temps. Subcooling is 18, indoor coil temp is 35, temp split is 15. System is slightly low on charge. Average life expectancy for this unit is 14 years. Future failure is expected. Job complete. Due to age, condition, and cost to repair,
Furnace start up. Cycled system. Checked wiring and connections. Checked venting. Checked ductwork. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Checked for levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. Normal levels found. No CO found in airstream. Checked drain line. No gas leaks detected. System operating normal at this time. Job complete.
8-14-19. Installed new pad and mounted unit on risers. Pressure tested. 8-14-19. Removed the nitrogen, vacuumed the unit below 500 microns and released the charge. 13° subcool with a 17° temp split. Unit is cooling properly.
Pkg clean and tune. Furnace. Cycled system. Removed burners and flame sensor. Checked and cleaned both. Burners were corroded and rusted. Cleaned to best of my ability. Checked igniter. Some signs of it getting worn, but no visible cracks found at this time. Heat exchanger is ok. Checked gas pressures. Checked levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. Normal levels found. No CO in airstream. System operating normal at this time. Ac. Cycled system. Checked filter and cleared drain lines. Checked and cleaned electrical compartment. Capacitor and contactor tested ok at this time. Compressor tested ok. Used coil cleaner on condenser coil. Hooked up gauges and checked pressures and temps. Subcooling was 9, indoor coil was 39, indoor split was 18. System operating normal at this time. Job complete.
Cleaned the bottom of the AC. I scooped out all the leaves and mud. I also sprayed the inside of the coil and resprayed the outside of the coil. Unit is cooling properly.
Performed preferred customer air conditioning cleaning. Cleaned the condenser unit. Checked the electrical. The electrical is ok. Cycled the air conditioner and checked the refrigerant levels. Found that the air conditioner is getting low on 410 refrigerant. Checked the indoor coil for leaks. Did not pick up a leak in the coil. Recommend adding some refrigerant and some leak dye to perform a leak search. Office to look up the warranties on the unit. The air conditioner is running at this time.
100amp to 100amp. Send bill.
Performed the level 2 AC cleaning. Small indications of a leak detected at the indoor coil. However, the refrigerant charge was normal. Electrical tested in the caution zone, but, the wiring is still doing good. Condenser coil is clean. Subcool was 9° with a 17° temp split. Unit is cooling properly at this time. I did let the customer know that if there is a leak, it’ll only get worse and be expensive to fix in the long run.
I installed the new collector box gasket. I reassembled the furnace. I cycled the furnace. It’s operating properly at this time.
Was here for an air conditioning cleaning and to install a new thermostat provided by the customer. The customer only had a five wire thermostat. Pulled a new thermostat 6 wire to accommodate the second stage of the furnace and the common wire. Wired up the customers new thermostat to the furnace. Performed preferred customer air conditioning cleaning. Was unable check the indoor coil for leaks due to the ductwork. Cleaned the condenser unit. Checked the electrical in the air conditioner. Cycled the air conditioner and checked the refrigerant levels. The refrigerant levels are good. The air conditioner is running at this time.
No cool. The air conditioner is tripping the breaker. I inspected the condenser and found a mouse nest in the electrical compartment. I cleaned out the mouse nest. I repaired the chewed wires. Cycled the air conditioner, it would still trip the breaker. I tested the compressor windings. The windings are shorting to ground. The compressor has failed and needs to be replaced. The office will look up the warranty and call to schedule the compressor replacement. I recommend having annual maintenance performed on the furnace and air conditioner
No cool. The condenser would try to start but wouldn’t run. I tested the contactor and capacitor on the condenser. Found the capacitor had failed. I replaced the capacitor, cycled the system and checked the pressures and temperatures. The air conditioner is cooling now. I recommend having yearly maintenance performed on the air conditioner and furnace. Capacitor replacement and annual maintenance performed on the furnace and air conditioner office will call to schedule maintenance.
