Ac check. Used refrigerant sniffer to check indoor coil for any issues. Small indications of possible leak. Cycled system. Checked pressures and temps. System was slightly over charged. Used megometer on compressor, tested a bit low, but ok. Capacitor is lower than tolerances a low to pass. Split was 19. Average life of this system is 14 years. This system is 20+ years old and in poor condition. Future failure is expected. Second opinion recommended. No charge for this call. Job complete.

Came out to perform an AC check. I had indications of a leak at the indoor coil. The evap coil outside is very worn out. Electrical components from the compressor tested bad. The capacitor tested out of zone and is rusting on the connections. Due to age, condition, and cost to repair, second opinion is recommended. Failure is expected.

Performed furnace clean and tune; inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured, removed and cleaned the burners along with the flame sensor, cycled the system on and checked gas pressures, as well as performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream. This system is currently operating normal at this time. We also decided to take some time to do a quick AC check, when I removed the electrical compartment cover on the outside unit I found a rodents nest that left significant damage to the system. I was able to tape freyed wires but I’m not 100% comfortable with this repair. Second opinion scheduled with Dan F today at 2:00. Job complete

Performed furnace start up; inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured I did find a section that will need to be replaced please refer to picture, I then sniffed the gas line for possible leaks, next I cycled the furnace on and checked gas pressures and did make adjustments to both stages, as well as performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream. We then decided to perform an AC safety check. When I went to remove the outdoor units electrical compartment I did find a rodents nest and noticed the system was not turning on. I removed the nest and rewired the system for operations. We decided to go with a full clean and tune so we can ensure operations this summer. Office to schedule AC cleaning. Job complete

Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Found filters extremely dirty and clogged as well as the whole unit is dirty and corroded. Found flame shield very corroded and starting to fall apart. Igniter tested low, but within range. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Ch coed for CO in airstream, none found. Found several areas of deep etching and runs throughout the heat exchanger. No cracks that make it through the heat exchanger found at this time. Found a large amount of rust on gas port connection. Pics on file. Recommend electronic air cleaner to minimize micro particulates in airstream to help medical issues in the home. System operating normal at this time.

Completed Gas Furnace replacement. Disconnected and removed old furnace and then set new one on blocks in its place. Reconnected the gas, electric, PVC vent pipes, and duct-work to new furnace. Installed a new WiFi Thermostat and connected it to the Furnace. Run tested the furnace, but will still need a technician start up. The Office will follow up to schedule a technician to return to do the Furnace efficiency startup, which is required for warranty purposes. Thank you for choosing Black-Haak Heating. Came out to investigate a no heat. The pressure switch was stuck open. I cleared all moisture from the drain lines and the pressure hoses with no success for ignition. I tested the water column and I had 2” and the switches themselves are rated for 0.70” and 0.20”. Pressure switches will need to be replaced. We will return when we have them at collect the payment.

Performed furnace clean and tune; inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured, removed and cleaned the burners along with the flame sensor, cycled the system on and checked gas pressures, as well as performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream. This system is 25+ years old and is showing signs of wear the blower motor tested weak at 54%. Due to the age, condition, and cost to repair I highly recommend replacement of the system as opposed to repair. This system is currently operating normal at this time. Job complete

Performed the level 2 furnace cleaning. Burners and flame sensor are clean. Heat exchanger looks good. Gas and exhaust levels are normal. No CO detected in the air. Heat rise was 44 degrees. We also checked into the basement zone valves. Their may be connection issues from the basement board and dampers. Chad will be returning to double check and fix the issue.
