Performed free AC inspection. Found a confirmed leak in the indoor coil. Checked the refrigerant levels. Found that the air conditioner is running low on r-22 refrigerant. The electrical is all original. This unit is 25 years old. Average life of an air conditioner is 15 years. Recommend my supervisor give the customer a call to discuss repair options.
Performed the new furnace start up. No gas leaks detected. Combustion levels are normal. No CO detected in the air. High limit passed the safety test. Temp rise was 50°. Unit is heating properly at this time.
Performed the start up on the new AC. I connected the electrical at the unit and the main board. I removed the nitrogen and pulled the AC into a vacuum. Once that was done, I released the refrigerant into the lineset. I had an 11° subcool with a 19° temp split. Unit is cooling properly.
No heat on the furnace, thermostat was blank. Found the switch for the furnace was off, turned it on. Cycled the furnace, it’s operating properly. Office will call to schedule furnace and air conditioner clean and tune.
Ac clean and tune. Checked indoor coil with refrigerant sniffer, found two spots that give indications of a refrigerant leak. Cleared drain line. Cycled system. Checked and cleaned electrical compartment. Found contactor and capacitor are very worn and should be replaced. Tested fan motor and compressor, both tested in caution range. This indicates that both of these motors will fail in the near future. Used coil cleaner on condenser coil. Hooked up gauges and tested refrigerant pressures and temps. System is low on charge. Sub cooling is 20 and superheat is 3. Temp split is 13. This system is very worn and fails the inspection for efficiency and reliability. Average life of this unit is 14 years, this system is 21+ years old and in very poor condition. Second opinion is recommended. Future failure is expected. Job complete.
Completed gas furnace replacement. Disconnected and removed old furnace from the basement. Set new furnace on blocks and reconnected the gas, electric, AC drain and duct work. Re-worked the existing vent pipe to accommodate connecting the 4†RV pipe the new furnace vents with. Also reworked the water heater vent pipe to shorten and allow reconnection to our new RV tee. Performed preferred customer air conditioning cleaning. During the cleaning, I found that the air conditioner is low on r-22 refrigerant. Recommended getting a second opinnion with my supervisor. Office to call to schedule an appointment.
Performed AC clean and tune; inspected and tested the electrical components both the compressor and capacitor both failed, I did spray down the condenser coil with cleaner, and lastly checked pressures and system appears to be a few ounces low on charge system is cooling at 13 degrees. Due to the age, condition, and cost to repair I highly recommend looking into our options. Job complete second opinion scheduled with Dan F at 9:00 4/29/2019
Performed AC safety check; inspected the condenser electrical compartment did test both the compressor and capacitor both components did test out weak I do foresee issues in the future, also hooked up the gauges and checked pressures due to weather conditions I am recommending a full clean and tune so we can check pressures on a warmer day to ensure proper operations this summer. Office will follow up to schedule full clean and tune on the system. Job complete
Was here for a 1st year furnace cleaning and a free air conditioning inspection. Performed preferred client furnace cleaning. Cleaned the burners and the flame sensor. Checked the furnace heat exchanger. Wiped down the inside of the furnace. Cleaned the drain trap and drain line. Cycled the furnace. Checked the furnace gas pressure. Performed furnace combustion test. The furnace is running normally at this time. Performed air conditioning inspection. Checked the indoor coil for refrigerant leaks. Checked the electrical in the air conditioner. Found that the capacitor is starting to leak oil. Tested the compressor windings. The windings tested ok. Cycled the air conditioner checked the refrigerant levels. The refrigerant levels looked ok. The customer will monitor the air conditioner and will call if the air conditioner stops working. The air conditioner is running normally at this time. The air conditioner is 15 years old. The average life of an air conditioner is 14 years. Recommend
Replaced the 213 filter with a new one.
Performed first year furnace furnace cleaning and fireplace cleaning. We started off with the furnace, inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured, removed and cleaned the burners along the flame sensor, cycled the system on and checked gas pressures, as well as performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream. I did notice a substantial amount of dust on the blower wheel I am including a quote for an electronic air cleaner to help bring these levels down. Both systems are currently operating normal at this time. Job complete
Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger, ok. Checked and cleaned burners and flame sensor. Ok. Checked and adjusted gas pressures to maximize efficiency. Checked levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. Normal levels found. No CO found in airstream. System operating normal at this time. Found indications of a leak in indoor coil for ac. Recommend full ac clean and tune, estimate sent for service. Job complete.
Performed furnace clean and tune; inspected the exhaust and intake PVC ensuring all connections were secured, removed and cleaned the burners along with the flame sensor, cycled the system on and checked gas pressures, as well as performed a combustion test verifying no CO in the airstream. I did leave a 213 aprilaire filter behind. This system is currently operating normal and heating at 62 degrees at this time. Job complete
Furnace safety inspection. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger. Found both chambers very rusted and worn. Found deep etching in both. Igniter worn and flame sensor is worn. Found exhaust venting not glued in two places. One near the termination, the other from the ventor motor. Both venting pipes were glued and checked, ok, Found the ventor motor very worn. Bearings are bad in motor. Checked levels of CO and XS air in exhaust. CO is normal, but XS air is high. 170. Found large area of rust in blower compartment. Cleared drain lines. Rust damage may be due to location in basement and leaking water issues from foundation. No CO found in airstream. System is 16 years old. Average life of this unit is 14 years. System is very worn and has issues, but operating safety at this time. Future failure is expected, but passes current inspection guidelines. Job complete.
Performed the level 2 boiler cleaning. Burners and flame sensor were inspecte. Heat exchanger looks good. Exhaust and CO levels are normal. Water pressure and temperatures were good. Unit is heating properly at this time.
Performed preferred customer furnace cleaning. Cleaned the burners and the flame sensor. Checked the furnace heat exchanger. Wiped down the inside of the furnace. Cycled the furnace. Checked the motors for proper operation. Performed furnace combustion test. Checked for carbon monoxide in the air stream. Found water inside the inducer motor. Cleaned the furnace drain trap and drain line. Found a dirty furnace filter. Replaced the furnace filter. The furnace is running normally at this time. Looks like the air conditioner hasn’t been checked in a while. Recommended getting an air conditioning cleaning to make sure the air conditioner is running properly and efficiently.
Came out to investigate a no heat. I found the inducer would kick in and the gas valve would click, but the igniter wouldn’t get hot. The igniter was bad so I replaced it. System is operating normally at this time.
Was here for a furnace no heat. Found that the inducer motor bearings are seizing up and not allowing the inducer motor to start. Changed out the inducer motor. Cycled the furnace. The furnace is running normally at this time.
Cut old pvc exhaust pipe apart at the wall near where it exits the basement. Re-piped the exhaust from outside in to where the horizontal run begins at main beam. Installed three new 3†pvc 90’s and one new 3†45. Cleaned and glued fittings taking care to make sure they didn’t push apart. Using an s-slip I shimmed the plenum above humidifier to cause the upper portion of the humidifier body to lean back slightly. This in turn leveled the front of the humidifier housing. Ran the humidifier for several minutes to check for any leaks and found the water to only be running into drain as it should. Thank you for choosing Black-Haak Heating.
